Poetry in Ingmar Bergman’s Wild Strawberries

As Victor Sjöström‘s character Isak Borg says, after reciting Johan Olof Wallin‘s verses from ‘Where is the Friend I seek where’er I’m going?’ in Ingmar Bergman’s compassionate and redemptive film Wild Strawberries:

There’s not many better uses of poetry in film, also taking into account the carefully considered – perfect – manner of rotational delivery.
